Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5/17/2025
By attending an Absurd Briefs event or subscribing to the Absurd Briefs newsletter, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree, well… don’t attend or subscribe. No hard feelings.
1. Participation at Your Own Risk
Absurd Briefs is a space for creative chaos, light mischief, and occasional paper cuts. By participating in any event — virtual or in-person — you acknowledge that:
-
You are responsible for your own actions, thoughts, snacks, beverages, and brainstorms.
-
You will not hold Absurd Briefs, its founder(s), collaborators, newsletter contributors, puppets, or inflatable voting devices liable for any injury, discomfort, embarrassment, existential crisis, or glitter-related incidents.
2. Consumption Disclaimer
If you consume any food, drink, or idea provided at an event, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk. This includes (but is not limited to):
-
Infused beverages
-
Questionably labeled snacks
-
Half-baked concepts
-
Metaphors stretched beyond their structural integrity
Please check ingredients and your calendar before consuming anything.
3. Creative Property & Community Sharing
You retain the rights to anything you create — but by sharing your idea during an event or via submission, you grant Absurd Briefs a non-exclusive license to display, celebrate, remix, or reference it (with credit!) in newsletters, social posts, or a possible coffee table book titled That Brief Was Wild.
If your idea ever becomes a real product and we helped inspire it, we’d love a shout-out, a sticker, or at least a founder discount.
4. Conduct
Absurd Briefs is a no-asshole zone. We’re here for creative risk, not personal harm. Respect others, their boundaries, and their beautiful, terrible ideas.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, let us know. We take this very seriously.
5. Newsletter Reality Check
By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive occasional bursts of joy, nonsense, and creative prompts.
We will never sell your info or spam you.
You can unsubscribe at any time, but you’ll always be a part of the Brief history.
6. Legal-ish Stuff
Absurd Briefs is not liable for:
-
Ideas that don’t work
-
Jokes that land awkwardly
-
Lost dreams, forgotten Post-its, or mid-event epiphanies
Basically, you agree not to sue us for being creative weirdos who made a space for you to be one, too.
